European Cycle Messenger Championship Oslo, Norway 2007 Update and Information

First of all, we are happy to inform you that the event has gathered much attention from sponsors and the media. Major companies have signed contracts for marketing and PR during the event. This means that we have economical resources to bring you an ECMC event that you will never forget and probably with more resources than any other ECMC events ever!


The track layout for the main race is now ready with all its details.

Names on the main race checkpoints will be revealed upon registration together with racer registration kit. The checkpoints will be given names according to its sponsors.

ECMC 2007 Jerseys are now being produced at KALAS production facilities. There are also cycling caps on order in the same ECMC Oslo livery.

The Jersey and cap will be sold at cost/sales price. (No revenue)

Caps 80kr (10 euro) (14 dollar)

There will be free housing and dining under the whole event. (if pre-registered)
If you need special attention regarding housing or food, please inform us in the comment section of the registration, so that we can meet your preferences.
(Vegetarians, allergic and so on).

Also if you intend to stay longer than the event, let us know and we will do the best to get you a free place to sleep. This is nothing we can guarantee, but we will do our best. Therefore the first persons who let us know will be given priority.

There are currently 6 messengers, and one PR Company working full time to give you the best event ever. We guarantee you a well organized and time rigid event with room for a lot of fun and delight. If you are here to just have fun and enjoy a bike event or here to bring home a ECMC prize, the event have been planned to meet both demands.

ECMC 2007 News and update.

The registration for the ECMC continues with an impressive numbers of pre registered messengers. There are over 70 pre registered messengers for the ECMC 2007.

Most of you will arrive some day prior to the event and leave some days after.

However there is an unofficial program for these days Thursday 28th of June and Monday 2nd of July, with alleycats and activities. However free food and housing is from Friday to Monday only, but we will try to get you all a place to sleep for the days not covered by the ECMC. An email will be sent to all pre registered messengers a week prior to the event, to assemble arrival information from each and every one of you.

Check-In Info

All pre-registered messengers for the ECMC will get free housing for their entire stay.

We have done our best to place you together with your friends.

However housing will be at several private locations and you will therefore need to bring your own sleeping bag and (inflatable) mattress. (Inflatable mattress can be bought in Oslo). All other info about what you need to bring, is listed in the link below.

The majority of messengers arrives on Thursday th 28th and departs on Tuesday, the 2nd of July. Therefore we will arrange a program for you guys on Thursday evening and Monday in addition to the ECMC program from Friday to Sunday.

Messengers who arrive by train from Copenhagen and Gothenburg should follow directions to Karl Johan street. Then follow this street for aprox 700 meters to Hard Rock café where you will find Dokken by using the map provided in the link above.

NB: around the railway station, it’s massive construction work for new buildings and the Tram way network. Take it easy with your bike around this area!



Food Menu

Friday:

All meals, all you can eat for free. Meals are included in the registration fee of 500nok. (Approx 60 Euro)

Dinner

Fresh boiled North Atlantic shrimps, Norwegian style with accessories.

Norwegian smoked and graved Salomon.

Strawberries and cream.

Saturday:

Breakfast

Bread, cheese, ham, sausages, jam, vegetables and yogurt.

Lunch

Baguettes with ham and cheese, roasted beef, shrimps or chicken.

Dinner

Barbeque with meat and all kind of accessories

(a chef will do the grilling and preparing of the food at Paradisbukta beach)

Sunday:

Breakfast

Bread, cheese, ham, sausages, jam, vegetables and yogurt.

Lunch

Baguettes with ham and cheese, roasted beef, shrimps or chicken.

Dinner

Mexican evening. Tortillas, tacos, vegetables, meat, sauces , sour creams and everything that goes with Tacos and Tortillas.

Fruit salad

Fruits and other kinds of snack will be available during the whole event.

NB: We will provide you with water. However if you want to drink something else with your food, you must arrange that your self. Beer will be sold at all dinner servings.

You will be given a drinking bottle with your race number and name on to use for the ECMC.



Award ceremony

We promise a Tour de France style award ceremony with beautiful podium girls and champagne. This is you chance to get a kiss from a beautiful Scandinavian blonde.

Our sponsors have provided us with a great range of gifts for the ECMC and we can promise that no messenger will go home, empty handed. It also looks like we will get two new bikes for you to win in the ECMC.

The event will be well covered by journalists

Several newspapers and TV channels will be filming and joining the event. We will also be on the live summer talk show on the National broadcast channel because of the ECMC 2007. Thanks to our PR department, it looks like the ECMC will go into the history as the championship with the most public awareness.

Few days left to the ECMC. Everything is set and ready for a spectacular messenger weekend. Since most messengers arrive on Thursday the 29th, we have lunched an unofficial program for events these days.
